Give Thanks

give thanks front iconWhile there are many things to be thankful for, the original intention of the Thanksgiving holiday was to thank God for His goodness and abundant blessings. Psalm 118:1 says to “give thanks to the Lord; for He is good…” Do you consider yourself to be good? The standard is the Ten Commandments. Have you ever told a lie? Stolen anything? Hated someone? Jesus calls hatred murder (Matthew 5:22)! Ever used God’s name carelessly? That’s blasphemy  (Exodus 20:7). By this standard are you innocent or guilty? Heaven or Hell? The good news is that you don’t have to remain condemned before God. Psalm 118:1 continues with “…for His mercy endures forever.” Two thousand years ago, God sent His only son Jesus Christ to earth. Jesus being fully God and fully man, lived a perfect life, fulfilled the Law and then willingly became the perfect sacrifice for the sin of the whole world. He died on a cross to pay for your sin (1 John 2:2). Jesus rose from the dead, defeating sin and death. If you repent and believe the Gospel, then God will forgive all your sin and give you eternal life (Mark 1:15, John 3:36). Thank Him by reading your Bible daily and living for Him! (John 8:31-32, Ephesians 2:10, Galatians 5:13-26) www.AfterLifeCatalog.com     80-BEZEUGEN    (802-393-8436)ORDER_buttonW
