Gateway to the West

On November 22, 1980, Kenneth Swyers was parachuting above the St. Louis Gateway Arch. It appeared that Swyers landed on top of the Arch and was thrown off balance when the wind caught his parachute. Swyers’ parachute deflated and he fell down the North Leg of the Arch. Approximately halfway down Swyers attempted to deploy his auxiliary parachute, however it failed to open. Swyers landed on his head and was pronounced dead at the hospital. What happens when you die? It is appointed for man to die once, and after that comes judgment. (Hebrews 9:27) Have you ever told a lie? Stolen anything? Hated someone? Jesus calls hatred murder! Ever used God’s name carelessly or as a curse word? That’s called blasphemy. Would you be innocent or guilty? Heaven or hell? The good news is that God does not want you to go to hell. God sent his Son, Jesus, to earth 2,000 years ago. Jesus, being fully God and fully man became the only acceptable sacrifice for sin. He lived a perfect life, fulfilled God’s law, died on the cross then rose from the dead. The Bible says that if you will repent (turn away from sin) and trust Jesus alone, then you will have eternal life. (Mark 1:15) www.AfterLifeCatalog.com
