Bailout
The struggling economy is in the news daily. Some businesses are failing. Others are asking congress for a bail out. Still others are filing for bankruptcy. Unemployment is on the rise. The stock market has affected most people directly. Houses are being foreclosed. Some people are filing for bankruptcy. Do you know what is worse than financial bankruptcy? Spiritual bankruptcy! The Bible says that all people are born in this condition (spiritually dead) (Ephesians 2:1). In order to be spiritually alive, the Bible says that you would have to be morally perfect, keeping the Ten Commandments. Let’s do a quick test to see if you need a spiritual bail out! Have you ever told a lie? Stolen anything? Hated someone, which is called murder? Lusted after another person, which is called adultery? Would you be innocent or guilty? Would you go to heaven or hell? If you are honest you recognize your guilt and understand you deserve to go to hell. Like the economy, that is bad news. The good news is that 2000 years ago God provided a bail out package for your spiritual bankruptcy. He sent his son Jesus to live on earth to fulfill the Ten Commandments for you. Jesus being fully God and fully man lived a perfect sinless life. You were dead in your sin! God has bailed you out! Will you accept his bail out package? Repent and trust Jesus.
